Privacy Policy
At Frinton Free Church we collect different types of information about our members for the following main reasons:
-
To provide a useful resource in the form of an online directory for church members.
-
To provide an interactive web site where email is used to communicate with our members.
-
To provide a security mechanism whereby we can restrict content to certain groups of users.
-
To fulfil our pastoral duty carried out in the public interest and this is fundamental to the legitimate interest of what we do as a Church.
-
To communicate with our members and those we come into contact with to notify them about groups they sign up to or to notify them about church activities.
Our principles
We are absolutely committed to protecting your privacy. We will not share your information with others without your consent.
We have established the following two principles:
-
We will respect your email privacy. You will only receive email from Frinton Free Church in relation to areas you have expressly signed up for. All church members automatically receive copies of our church meeting agendas and church meeting times - however, should you wish to unsubscribe from this, you can do so at any time via the ‘My Area’ page on our website.
-
We will not share any individual user details (including your email address) to any third party without your consent.
What information do we collect?
We collect name, address, email address and telephone number when people apply for membership or ask to join a group or sign up to a church event.
Who will have access to your information?
You have control over whether or not your details are viewable in the online member’s directory via the ‘My Area’ page on our website under Privacy settings. By default, church members only can see all these details and the public can see none of these details. This helps us build the online address book. Some members may request printed copies of this address book or church directory via the church office which is acceptable. We cannot control that data once it is shared in this form, but do ask that members;
-
Destroy any old copies of church directories they may have
-
Respect this personal information by ensuring it is kept in an appropriately secure place
-
Report any lost information as a data breach
What else you should know about privacy

Please be aware that whenever you voluntarily disclose personal information over the internet that this information can be collected and used by others. In short, if you post personal information in publicly accessible online forums, you may receive unsolicited messages from other parties in return. Ultimately, you are solely responsible for maintaining the secrecy of your usernames and passwords and any account information. Please be careful and responsible whenever you are using the internet.
